The World Snow Day is dedicated for children, families and everyone who loves to spend their free time in a meaningful and healthy way.
The event will take place at 12PM, 21st January, 2018 in one of the most remarkable places – the ensemble of Kaunas Pažaislis Monastry in a peninsula in the Kaunas Reservoir. This architectural ensemble is considered to be one of the best baroque examples in Nothern and Eastern Europe.
During the event, The Penguins, which are the symbol of the event, will entertain the participants during the whole event. Partners of the event “Ice masters” with sculptors will make a memorable and professional performance: they will invite to ice workshops and create ice and snow sculptures. The moderators of the event – penguins- will invite everyone to take some active exercises. After a warm-up, children and their parents will be invited to try out a range of winter sports: race of pulling sledges, skiing, ice-skating, ice-hockey, relay-races. The youngest participants will make snowmen and snow-angels. The partners of the event “Karalius Mindaugas Vocational Training Centre” will introduce the challenges faced by paramedics during the winter time. They will teach how to provide first aid in cases of freezing or sports injuries. All participants will be treated with herbal tea grown in the garden of Pažaislis Monastry.
We expect that this event will attract participants not only from Kaunas city, but also from the region and winter sports will become a tradition. So come an join us for all the fun on World Snow Day.
