Georgian Ski Areas Report 25% Jump in Business
Georgia’s ski areas have reported a 25 percent growth in visitor numbers in the season just completed, compared to winter 16-17, according to official data. The total number passed the half million mark for the first time, at 514,874.

The growth continues a trend which has seen the number of visitors grow by almost 500% since 2012.

"The data became available by installing contactless check points by the Austrian company SKIDATA, which allows us to accurately calculate the number of visitors. This system operates at all four of Georgia’s ski resorts”, Georgia’s Ministry of Economy reported in a statement.

Goderdzi in the Adjara region is reported to receive the most visitors and it saw 129 percent growth since last season.

Patrick Thorne, also known as the Snow Hunter, is an industry expert in all technical developments in snow sports. In addition to his work Patrick is also father and knows the importance and fun of kids on snow.
