In mild weather-conditions than normal World Snow Day was hosted in Ombergsliden in the southern part of Sweden and was the start for the project Everyone on Snow. The project gives 4th graders a chance to try to glide on snow for free during one day.
World Snow Day is a day when childen get access to the ski slope, and thanks to our sponsors, ICA, Vattenfall, Skistar and Svensk sport forum together with the ski resort, get the opportunity to test to ski for free during the day whatever they had on previous experience or ability.
Previously, the children have been able to test both downhill and cross country skiing, but until this year we have thanks to sponsorship from Burton, DC, Libtec, Salomon and K2 also been able to offer the children to try snowboarding.
To create an environment that is as safe as possible for children in the slope and to enable them to develop their skiing, the Alpine Club been part of the hill to help both beginners and more experienced children.
