Though we were forced to cancel the initial celebration of the World Snow Day due to extremely cold weather forecast, we thought at the last minute that as we are still having the official training for Tartu Maraton, the World Snow Day celebration should not stand aside. So, Club Tartu Maraton celebrated World Snow Day with almost 200 small and big skiers who trained for the 42nd Tartu Maraton.
The World Snow Day celebration and official training took place at Tehvandi Sport Center, Otepää where all participants could get a cup of warm tea and start the training with energetic music. The official start of the training was given by the race director of the 42nd Tartu Maraton Indrek Kelk at noon. Skiers headed to the service point after 12km where they were served with another cup of warm tea and they could head back to Tehvandi.
So, everyone could enjoy World Snow Day 2013 celebration with the official season opening of the Club Tartu Maraton 2013 events. All children also received a World Snow Day diploma as a proof and a keepsake of the day.
