On January 21st and 22nd 2012, the Chamonix Tourist Office in partnership with the UCPA Center Chamonix, welcomed 16 children and 4 accompanying adults from the SOS Children Village in Digne Les Bains and Carros.
Saturday January 21st:
The children arrived on Saturday, January 21st around noon. After lunch at the UCPA Center, the group gathered on the Savoy Ski area for an amusing skiing afternoon. The snack offered afterwards at the UCPA Center was very welcome.
A reception was then given for the children at the Congress Center Le Majestic with guests representing the Municipality, the Tourist Office Board and with the partners who participated in this event and who generously offered very nice presents to the children -hats, caps, pens- during this evening.
The first day ended with a night activity organized by the UCPA team: a snowshoeing walk with building of a huge igloo and hot chocolate round a fire.
Sunday January 22nd:
Due to the bad weather conditions, the initially planned excursion to the Aiguille du Midi cable car was not possible. As an alternative, the children had the joy to experience the exciting luge alpine coaster at the Planards Chamonix Leisure Park.
Noon: lunch at the UCPA Center before their journey back.
