Snow week in Belarus!

A grand celebration dedicated to the World Snow Day was celebrated on 17 of January 2016 in more than 40 countries around the world simultaneously.
Belarus has traditionally joined this event. The main events were held in all regional centers and in Minsk.
The peculiarity of this year was its new format. Belarusian Ski Union proposed the idea of the Snow Week.
The event started on 16 of January in the regions and ended on 23 of January with the Snow Festival in Minsk. During the Snow Week passed sports competitions and festivals across the country. So on 17 of January in Minsk took place starts of young skiers, and Raubichi took Eastern Europe Cup in cross-country.
Participants of the snow action on the main festival in Minsk pleased with Santa Claus and his fabulous team, who together with the kids had fun in competitions and games in the snow. Every child could get free master class on the Alpine skiing and Snowboarding from the best young athletes of Belarus.
Adult holiday guests could cheer on the participants of sports competitions, enjoy the concert and participated themselves in active contests and competitions. During the Snow Week, it was not less than 80 thousand active participants of the festival in the whole Belarus. Because snow events took place in more than 120 cities and regional centers across the country.
Coordinator of the World Snow Day in Belarus were the Union "Belarusian Ski Union" and the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the regional offices of sports.
