Second Indoor Snow Centre Opens in Indian City Within a Month

10. May 2019
A second indoor snow centre has opened in the southern Indian city of Mysuru within a few weeks of another facility opening.

Both are ‘snow experience’ venues rather than ski and snowboarding centres – although visitors are given the trance to try out ski gear on a small slope.

The “Snow City Theme Park” is located within a fully refurbished Regency Theatre and has been designed to resemble the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia.
Inside the complex the temperature is maintained at minus 4-5 degrees Celsius and visitors can enjoy snowballing, tubing, winter mountain climbing, snow jumping, snow biking, sliding, sledging, dancing, selfie spot, skiing and snow sliding along with enjoying DJ music and visiting an ice house and a snow hotel in an area of 10,000 square feet.

Visitors are provided with warm winter wear and visits to the complex last 45 minutes with nine sessions per day scheduled from 10.15am till 8pm.
The facility was officially inaugurated by a member of the local Mysuru royal family, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar.
