We started preparing the events for the World Snow Day with the Ski Simulation Trials in Athens on the 14th of December 2014, which was organized by the Athens Ski Club.

42 children took part in the sports Inline skating Slalom, Mountain Biking and Parallel slalom running.

The week from 12/01/2015 to 18/01/2015, 1931 children from schools came to enjoy the activities organized Parnassos Ski Centre, Kelaria and Fterolaka, for the World Snow Day 2015 with totally free access to the lifts.

The events staged on both sides of the Resort were considered a huge success since, despite the decrease in snowfall, there was an increase of participating Children by about 95% since last year.
Free and discount ski and snowboard lessons were given during the whole week from 12/01/2015 to 18/01/2015 by the instructors of the “Pappos Baldumis Ski School”, mostly to children under 15 years of age, coming from invited primary schools.

Thanks to our communication sponsor “IKON” with the press releases, TV channels such as ANT1 and ALPHA got interested in the festivities and broadcasted the events live on shows viewed by almost 600.000 people at all times.

Klaoudados ski bus provided a free transport to all the volunteers involved in the Event.

Kelaria’s Chalet Manager took care of all the catering expenses.
Papadopoulos company handed out 2000 packets of chocolate sandwich biscuits to all Children.

Metlife Alico insured the children against any accidental injuries.
The ski centre supplied us with free ski passes, nets, personnel, ratraks, etc. and covered the expenses for the printouts of 2000 Diplomas and 2000 FIS Safety Rules.

Worked for free:

35 volunteers from E.O.S-Athens
20 ski and snowboard instructors from “Pappos Baldoumis Ski School”
A 6 metres tall Snowman Slide was built in Fterolaka.
A 3 meters tall Igloo was built in Kelaria
Parallel Giant Slalom races in Kelaria, Giant Slalom in Fterolaka, a great number of games like snowball shooting, treasure hunt and sleigh races took place successfully during both days of 17 &18 January 2015.
3 Info Desks operated in Audi Quattro Tents to ensure the smoothness of all operations and all toolkits we had were used during the whole week.
During the week 2000 packets of Papadopoulos sandwich biscuits and 2000 safety regulation handbooks were given to all the children attending the festivities.
The party with Djs on Decks that followed the events and the medal & Diploma awards were certainly the highlights of the week on the 18th/01/2015.
It’s also worth mentioning that no injuries occurred.
The events were held both in “Kellaria” and “Fterolaka” .
Everyone cooperated with each other perfectly.

Lots of children, lots of games, lots of fun for both youngsters and adults!

The weather was ideal and the snow more than enough.
Overall we offered snow fun to 1973 children under the age of 15 years old.
