On the 17th and 18th of January World Snow Day was held in Magnitogorsk for the 4th time.
This year it’s dated to the 18 th Winter Deaflympics one stage of those will held in the ski centre «Metallurg-Magnitogorsk» at the end of March. For the first time ever children and adults with the hearing disorder took part in the celebrating including members of the Russian association of deaf people. They performed two musical spots with gestures and dances.
World Snow Day started in the Ecological park of the city on January 17th. Here visitors of the festival could participate in various contests and events, like mini football, curling, ice-hockey, sledge racing, felt boots pitching, skiing and even quidditch.
Moreover World Snow Day in Magnitogorsk is also a festival of creativity and imagination. This year the competition «Cutting» was the head of celebrating. 15 commands took part in cutting different animals and characters from snow cubes. The 3d place took «the Bear», the 2nd went to «the Penguin» and the winner become «the big Snow Ice-cream».
A giant Ice sculpture with the logos of the festival, city Magnitogorsk and Deaflympics was made specially for this event. Visitors were warmed by delicious and hot non-alcoholic drinks created by the city restaurants for the competition for the best winter cocktail.
Finally three cards with the wishes of the visitors written on them were launched into the sky.
