For the third time now, the FIS World Snow Day 2014 was held in Lech Zürs am Arlberg. 18 children and young people from the SOS Jugendwohnheimen Bregenz und Dornbirn [children's home] were invited to Lech Zürs to spend a sporty, but nevertheless relaxing, day together in the snow. However, there was plenty of fun to be had, as evident in the alternative activity option: Zipflbob riding. From the very first run, so many were struck by race fever! Only a snowball's throw away, our advanced skiers explored the ski area with their guide. For ambitious ski and snowboard beginners, the phrases "UP and DOWN" and "more TURNS" could often be heard from the Flühenlift. After all, as we reached the 'final straight' on this day of activity, it is quite possible that up and coming athletes were born. And they all had something in common - happy and joyful faces, with many no doubt still recalling one or two of their many runs.
We would like to thank our sponsors for the transportation, breakfast, ski passes, equipment, ski and snowboarding instructors, lunch and the organisation of give-aways. Without them the day could not have been possible.
