Snow world Fukushima in Tokyo held at Shibuya, the popular and in the heart of Tokyo.
As one part of the FIS World Snow Day, this event gave the opportunity that children who are living in an urban area was able to feel and touch the real flesh snow. Over 2,500 people came to the event site in spite of bad weather conditions. Since the Tokyo does not have an opportunity of snow falling, Tokyo kids enjoyed feeling a snow.
In additions, some of former Olympians which included Yumi Inomata,former cross country skier, took part in this event at Shibuya. They introduce the pleasure of doing winter sports to the both Tokyo and Fukushima kids.
This event was also connecting Inawashiro, FUKUSHIMA ski resorts by internet live streaming. Inawashiro is the site which was held FIS freestyle ski world championships in 2009, and the one of the stricken area of a huge earthquake disaster in March 2011. Both Fukushima children and Tokyo children communicated thorough live streaming, and promoted mutual friendships. Both areas children are have jointly the pleasure of snow and snow activities.
