On Sunday 18 January 2015 over 100 children enjoyed free lift passes, equipment rental and an unforgettable snow sports day at the Grächen Hannigalp.

The post course started already in the morning for the older children (8-14 years) and at midday for the younger children (4-7 years). Children were able to try various snow sports such as skiing and snowboarding. In addition, they could rapidly slide down the snow tube. The various post have been coached of professional instructors, among others, the winner of European Cup in snowboarding, Yannick Imboden. For additional fun children were able to search in the artificial avalanche of buried treasures, where they learned facts about avalanches from the “Grächner Pistenpatrouilleuren” and the avalanche dog handler. As last year also an avalanche dog was on site. The children were able to learn a lot and were impressed by the skills of the avalanche dog. At the first year the children could also build funny snowman’s. Afterwards we posted the pictures of the snowman’s on Facebook, where our fans could vote for the best picture. To the people of the winner group we will send all a ski pass for one day.

But the big highlight of the day was the helicopters and PistenBully experience. When approaching the helicopters all eyes turned towards the sky. The crew of Air Zermatt showed the astonished children rescue procedures and answered all questions patiently. Children were also to explore the Grächner PistenBully. At midday it was hunger time! In the mountain restaurant Hannigalp the children get a delicious plate of free pasta and tea to gather new strength for the post run in the afternoon. After the midday we take a group picture of all children with the mascot Grächner SiSU, Bogi and Snowli in front of the Grächer PistenBully.

At the big Toblerone competition everything was at stake. A 4.5 kg giant Toblerone was the prize. At the end of the day a great ceremony was held in the mountain restaurant Hannigalp. The mascot Grächner SiSu, Bobi and Snowli gave each child his personal medal as a memory of the World Snow Day 2015 in Grächen. On Monday after the World Snow Day every child received an e-mail with the great group picture as an additional memory of the World Snow Day in Grächen.

The 4th World Snow Day in Grächen was again a great success.
