Skiing in Pakistan is in its infant stage. Although we do have high snow covered mountains with tens of kilometers long slops. Skiing is being done by limited people and in a limited place. We are lucky to have the only civil ski resort of Malam Jaba. Pioneer Sports & Ski School is struggling hard to promote skiing in its area.
Our activities came to halt when the ski resort was destroyed by militants. After the successful military operation when the militants were defeated and the area was cleared from militants we again started our efforts not for the revival of skiing but to promote peace, harmony and socio-economic activity in the area. We can claim that skiing has played his role in bringing peace, stability, socio-economic and skiing in the area.
Due very less snow we could not conduct ski training course as scheduled for the children. Due our efforts the Malam Jaba ski resort has been given on lease but the owner did not extend any facilitation to our Pioneer Sports & Ski School. We did skiing on the Snow World in a limited manner.
This time we have added another mandate to start complain against Narcotics and Drugs. Here the youngsters are addicted to this bad habit. We have started campaign and had meeting with the different stake holders to join us.
We are very much thankful to the FIS for supporting and encouraging us to promote skiing. We assure you all that Pioneer Sports & Ski School shall do all possible efforts to promote Skiing and Peace in the area.
