Overall, during the day of the celebration of the World Snow Day Belarus gathered about 1800 participants and more than 2400 visitors and spectators according to the police statistics.
Different media resources including state TV and various Internet portals, which are widely popular in Belarus, actively covered the entire event. City hall took a special part in this event and actively participate in the official part of the holiday and congratulate all the participants of the event.
In addition, for sure, this kind of event could not be held without the greatest athletes of the country, so people had an amazing opportunity to see the Belarusian Champions in ski sports. Olympic Champions in Aerials – Alla Truper and Anna Huskova and 10-times Paralympic Champion Lyudmila Volchok were greeted by sport fans. Moreover, after that our sport women hailed people, said farewell words to the participants of the competition, and then held a photo and autograph session and free master-classes for the youngest visitors and participants of the “Snow Sports Fest”.
The venue was divided into several parts, where everyone who came had an opportunity to find anything according to their interests. Throughout the day, there was organized a free work of the slopes, where everyone was able to go skiing, snowboarding and have a ride on a snow tubing, horse and hasky-dog-riding. Moreover, if someone does not have enough skills for skiing, there were organized special free master-classes from leading athletes of the Republic of Belarus, so everyone could learn something new or improve existing skills in these sports.
In total, there were seven activation zones for little ones and for those who were already tired of skiing and just want to have some fun during this winter weekend day. Throughout the event, there was show, competitions, performances of Belarusian dancers and singers on the stage, and everyone all around the platform danced and performed different moves with the cartoon characters (animators who looked like the cartoon characters). Event host had many interesting and funny contests for people and he even was able to organize a kind of dancing flash mob with the visitors of our festival. Famous Belarusian music band named “By city” sang their songs and happy voices of audience were heard during the whole day. Therefore, if you became tired of the loud music you could go straight and find many other things to do.
One of the activation zones was designed exclusively for children, where animators played outdoor games with children using specialized equipment. However, as everyone understand, not only children wanted to have fun, so the remaining zones were an entertainment for people of any age and for the whole families. The names of the amusements speak for themselves: Visiting the Yeti, a Giant Slingshot, Snow Bowling, Cheerful Curling, Going to a Blizzard. The freezing was not a problem because all this games were fun and forced people to be energetic and active.
