The weather, with blustering winds, bad road conditions, and freezing temperatures, prevented a lot of people from visiting Miquelon Lake Provincial Park on World Snow Day 2013. Nevertheless, event organizers bravely soldiered on and provided a big campfire, hot chocolate and s'mores, displays, and a warm shelter to participants. They also offered a plethora of free, family-friendly activities including ice skating, snowshoeing (including free equipment rentals), groomed cross-country ski trails, a scavenger hunt, broom ball, and all-ages snow carving competition with prizes.
