With the excellent organization and cooperation of the Korea Ski Association(KSA) together with 'PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation', the first World Snow Day in Korea was successfully completed.

On February of 2018, 23rd Olympic Winter Games was held in PyeongChang, South Korea. KSA and also all Korean believe that we have a responsibility to continue and deliver the Olympic legacy to the next generation. In such intense, the goal of 1st World Snow Day was to give a great memory and experience about snow and winter sports to the children in Korea and other countries who still don’t have that experience.

- World Snow Day x Dream Program 2020 (13th – 17th Jan. 2020)
For the kids from other countries, PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation put the World Snow Day in their Dream Program. Dream Program 2020 is an winter sports camp that provides winter sports experiences such as Skiing and snowboarding to children who would not have the opportunity to experience winter weather and winter sports.
Both Dream Program and World Snow Day aim to promote snow activates and encourage newcomers to the snow. This year Dream Program2020 is participating World Snow Day with 123 youths from 29 different nations. Dream Program provided accommodation, meals, transportation, as well as winter sports training for the participants free.

- World Snow Day x Korea Ski Association (18th – 19th Jan. 2020)
Korea Ski Association proudly hosted 1st World Snow Day in South Korea. The goal of the event was to make and share a happy memory on snow with kids and their families.
KSA invited 350 kids to the ski resort on the 18th of Jan. 2020 and provided free accommodation, ski/snowboard use, lesson, food & drink, etc. After ski lessons, there was a mini ski race, and KSA gave the 1st World Snow Day medal to all. In the evening, KSA provided environmental protection education to share the idea of how precious snow is. Participants promised to love and take care of the environment to protect winter on earth. And finally, they got a special cape to be a snow hero of Korea after signed the pledge to protect the environment. At the same time, PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation provided ‘Olympic value education’
On the second day (19th of Jan. 2020), participants played Korean traditional games, treasure hunting on snow, and also completed some missions with their parents together. As a reward of the mission, they got a reusable cup as a meaning of the promise to protect the trees and environment!
All invited kids and family promised with the Korea Ski Association that make and share the happiness and memory of winter and snow more and bring more friends to the next 2nd World Snow Day! 92.6% of participants answered on a survey that they want to join again on next World Snow Day

- Through the 1st World Snow Day in Korea, 473 kids from 30 countries had an unforgettable memory. Korea Ski Association and PyeongChang 2018 Legacy Foundation also. The joint committee waiting for 2nd World Snow Day next winter!
