“La fête du ski” was attended by more than 40 ski resorts in five French mountain ranges.
French Ski Federation has proposed the discovery of the snow activities like skiing and snowboarding with a special rate of 2€ for a special Discovery Pass "fête du ski". Almost 1000 Discovery passes were sold on this occasion.
Many activities were offered by the French resorts:
Introduction to Alpine skiing, biathlon, telemark
Co'skiing
Breakfast on the slopes
Ski and snowboard racing
Discounts on ski passes
Lessons offered by the ski schools
Snowshoeing
Hot drinks and snacks
Equipment demonstrations
Sled Dog Race
Freestyle demonstrationAvalanche awareness
Forty French resorts were mobilized to promote all activities related to snow and to make this day a true celebration of skiing and snow. Many initiatives have marked our mountains on January 22nd. Participants were able to test equipment and discover or rediscover our mountain sports: alpine skiing, freestyle and Nordic activities with cross-country skiing, biathlon, snowshoeing and dog sledding ... Ski schools offered classes for beginners who have enjoyed for the first time, the joy of skiing. Insiders were able to participate in freestyle contests...
The festivities offered by the resorts have entertained young and old. Children wandered the sleds pulled by dogs or horses. Food lovers were regaled with breakfasts, snacks and “giant tartiflettes” with "feet in the snow." Fans and athletes were able to attend prestigious races.
It was a great day!
