World Snow Day started in Magnitogorsk on the 21 of January in Magnitogorsk ski centre Abzakovo. Different entertainment programmes, various ski and snow contests and shows, games and dancing party, all these events were devoted to children and their families. Needless to say, that fun and children’s laughter, which reigned all day long, were the best reward for the organisers of the event.
On the 22 of January World Snow Day festival was held in Magnitogorsk ecopark, the event started with the «The best snow sculpture» contest. Various snow figures like a charming snow dragon, funny snowman, snow fish, heart and volcano made of snow, were created by family teams. The winner of the contest was a little fairytale house, which had a straw roof, windows and even a tiny door.
Numerous gifts and presents were given to participants and winners of different contests like sledge and ski races, throwing of snowballs, mini-football contest, hockey tournament and figure-skating perfomance. One of the most popular contests among the visitors was felt boot throwing. Fun and laughter have been everywhere.
The contest of the best winter cocktail attracted lots of people. The visitors of the event liked the sweet and hot drink created by Dikanka restaurant so much, that it has been chosen as the tastiest cocktail of the festival.
The World Snow Day festival ended by the launching of hundreds of laterns, white, green, pink and yellow, burning in the twilight, they carried to the sky wishes of the festival visitors.
Without any doubt, celebration of the World Snow Day has become an unforgetable event for Magnitogorsk!
