The morning of January, 20th, 2013 in Khabarovsk was so cold, that the director of the Pereyaslavka orphanage #22 whose kids were about to go to Spartak ski center together with volunteers-snowboarders to try the boards for the first time, took an executive decision. To postpone the celebration. For spring. Not to get the children cold and sick. Both kids and volunteers were disappointed.

And only one kid got a chance to go to the mountain to try the board – because it was his BIRTHDAY! That’s why the World Snow Day in Khabarovsk with its idea bring children to the snow was postponed for warmer weather in March. It will definitely be held. Because the FULL-DRESS REHEARSAL has already taken place.

So 7 volunteers together with Kirill, the main character of the day, went to Spartak ski center, took a rental children’s board, told the boy about it, which parts it consists of, how to put it on and take it off. After an active warming-up there started a real class – Kirill was taught how to use the front and the back edge, how to stop the board, move sidewards and even jump on a snowboard.

Not to make the director of the orphanage nervous 1,5 hours later Kirill returned back to his friends to the orphanage, and the volunteers went again to the mountain for a festive photosession in a snowboard park. Best photographers and best snowboarders made a lot of good snow shots.

The second part of celebration will be held in Khabarovsk in spring at the days of school spring holidays.
