In celebration of the FIS World Snow Day we have officially inaugurated winter season in Szklarska Poręba on the 15h of January 2017. The PADASNIEG Ski and Snowboard School, together with Sudety Lift and the Town of Szklarska Poreba organized the “Swieto Sniegu” feast in the Ski Arena Szrenica. A lot of attractions were provided to the citizens and the town guests. Thanks to a substantial snowfall, stunning winter surroundings added charm to the whole event. Free skiing and snowboarding lessons were given by the PADASNIEG instructors. They have provided vital advice on the slope to anyone interested. Additionally test rides on skibikes and snowscoots as well as long rail rides demonstrations were performed. Snow games for kids were arranged in the animation zone. The highlight of the World Snow Day was the PADASNIEG Crosscountry Game. Skiers as well as snowboarders were involved. The participants had to cross the Ski Arena Szrenica slopes using a specially designed map, discovering interesting spots in the area and unraveling the secrets of meteorology. By completing the tasks, contestants gained points which allowed them to win attractive prizes. Several journalists witnessed the whole event, relating to different media i.e. television, radio.
This year we are offering an improved and comprehensive snow field game for skiers and snowboarders. We have the latest Fischer skis and we offer try before you buy programme. We will be having a Fastest Downhill contest with a valuable prize for the lucky winner. We had great support with the council of Szklarska Poreba last year and we are counting on that this year.
