Cortina d'Ampezzo World Snow Day | 19 January 2014
400 Event Participants
Snow and grey clouds never stop children having fun.

As in the previous two editions World Snow Day was once again a great success. Children from the local ski club had an opportunity to feel like a professional athlete. With the Alpine World Cup in town the children had a special meet and greet with the World Cup stars. The action created some brilliant memories that we are sure will last a life time and inspire them to continue snow sports. But this was not all.

In keeping with the tradition that 'snow sports does not exclude' Cortina once again welcomed children from the local SOS Kinderdorf. On World Snow Day children from the local SOS facility were transported to Cortina, provided free rental equipment, free lessons and lift passes. This action really allowed children how had never skied before to try snow sports. Just like the children from the ski club we are sure these children will have positive ever lasting memories.

World Snow Day was a special occasion for Cortina and the children. We hope the children and families of the world can join us to explore, enjoy and experience the snow.
