Latvia Ski Association organized World Snow Day in Sigulda region, in Reina trase skiarea. There was possibilities for chilren and youths to try and take part in Alpine ski and snowboard slalom and also in cross-country event which main goal was to play on skis. Young cross-country participants were inspired by olympians from Nagano and Lillehamer games. And of course all children in this day was encouraged in all activities by Latvian Ski Association's mascot Vilcins (wolf-cub).
Children had also possibility to write on snow in action "Paint snow yourself", compete with their parents in family relay with snow tyres.
Who was first day on snow had possibility to learn ski or snowboard with professional instructors for free and to rent skis for half price. All day long good music, different mascots, free food and tea and of course souvenirs for all and prizes for best.
